Beginner starting guide

From my experience I was facing alot of issue at the beginning, cause I wasn't that much in web development, but I have made my way until I learn on of the good technique. So I will assume that you don't have any perior knowledge background in web develoment and you want to learn alfresco.

1-Custmize alfresco

Use the installer and install alfresco 4.x, because it has alfresco explorer and alfresco share on it, alfresco explorer it became very old and has being disabled in version 5.x, but most of the books are talking about alfresco explorer, so I believe that and customize it will. see how it's behave and then try to read the documentation about it.

2-Read books

Alfresco has disable the share interface, but still from my side doesn't solve the issue of how to learn alfresco, so I recommend first alfresco 3 cookbook, stick to it, it's a good book, then you may try other books like: alfresco practical solution, Alfresco 4 Enterprise Content Management Implementation. I think these books will let you get familiar with alfresco. Once you learn them you can move forward and read about other titles freely.

3-How to get some help

you may use the forum, alfresco irc channel, and try to know some web friend that have worked with this technique.
